Hi, I’m Sarah.

I am currently a Miller Postdoctoral Fellow in the Departments of Plant and Molecular Biology and Earth and Planetary Science at UC Berkeley. I completed my PhD in Geochemistry at Caltech in November 2023.

In July 2026, I will be joining the Department of Geophysical Sciences at the University of Chicago as an Assistant Professor.

“I always loved nature, but I first wanted to be an artist or a novelist,” she recalls. “I’ve always loved telling stories.” But when she was an undergraduate trying to settle on a major, she realized that she could do a lot of what she loved as a geologist. “Being a scientist, you get to tell stories. And you also get to do a lot of visual art, creating graphics,” she says. “I get to spend most of my time answering really big questions to understand the world, but also the small day-to-day moments doing the other things that I love most.” -Interview in Protostar, Science Adviser
